How To Add A Custom Domain To Blogger From Godaddy ?

As i purchased few domains from Godaddy.com so i thought i should prepare a tutorial for the newbies who wanted to setup their domain in Blogger using Godaddy and are facing trouble in doing that. So in this tutorial i am going to show you a step by step procedure to add your custom domain to Blogger using Godaddy. Also i will try to troubleshoot a very common problem "custom domain doesn't work without www in blogger " that most of the bloggers face while setting up their domains with Goddady.

So below are the steps that you can follow to set up the custom domain in Blogger :

• Step 1: After purchasing your domain from Godaddy Log in to your Blogger Account.
• Step 2: Then go to Dashboard >> Settings >> Basics.
• Step 3: Now in publishing section click on "Add a custom Domain".

• Step 4: Now enter your Domain and make sure that you have used WWW as prefix and then click on "Save" button. 

• Step 5: Then it will show you some error generally it will show you some ERROR 5 with the two CNAMES as shown in screenshot.
• Step 6: Copy these two CNAMES as they would be required later.

• Step 7: Now, Log in to your Godaddy Account.
• Step 8: Then click on All Products >> Domain >> Domain Management.

• Step 9: Then you will be taken to Domains Page. Now click on "DNS" and select "DNS Manager" as shown below in screenshot.

• Step 10: Now you will be taken to Standard DNS Dashboard page, here select your domain and click on "Edit Zone".

• Step 11: Now a new page will open up this is generally Zone File Editor page. In this page Go to A(host) and click on "Quick Add button" four times this will create four sections as shown below in screenshots.

• Step 12: Fill these fields with the following four blogger Id's :

216.239.32.21

216.239.34.21

216.239.36.21

216.239.38.21

• Step 13: Then click on "Save Zone File" and then "OK" .
• Step 14: Now again on the same page Go to CNAME section and click on "Quick Add" button and fill the two CNAMES that you have copied in step 6.

Here you can fill first field as:

www                 ghs.google.com

• Step 15: Then click on "Save Zone File" and then "OK" .
• Step 16: Now again log in to your Blogger account.
• Step 17: Go to Dashboard >> Settings >>Basics , and in publishing section again save your new domain.
• Step 18: And then again in publishing section click on "edit" and check the redirect box and save it.

• now you can see your new blog address in your address bar.
